Shelton Jewish Festival

A Celebration of Culture, Music, and Community

This summer, Shelton will come alive with the sights, sounds, and flavors of Jewish culture at the inaugural Shelton Jewish Festival — a vibrant celebration of diversity, tradition, and community. Join us on Sunday, June 22, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. for an unforgettable afternoon of live music, family fun, and delicious food.

Musical Performances:

Kicking off the festival is the renowned David Chevan Klezmer Band, led by acclaimed musician David Chevan. Specializing in joyful and spirited Klezmer music, the band brings to life the rich heritage of Jewish song — with lyrics in both English and Hebrew that echo themes of love, celebration, and connection.

In the second half, get ready for a high-energy performance by the Jon Madof Trio — the latest project from guitarist and composer Jon Madof, a frequent collaborator of John Zorn and founder of acclaimed Jewish fusion bands Zion80 and Rashanim. Expect a bold mix of rock, jazz, and traditional Jewish melodies.

Family Fun & Food:

The festival will feature something for everyone — including inflatables, games, crafts, vendors, and an exciting foam party for kids. Enjoy authentic Israeli street food like shawarma and sabich, freshly prepared by Ladle & Loaf Kosher Restaurant of New Haven.

Admission is free, including music and all kids’ activities. Food will be available for purchase.
